Valentine’s Day party recipes

Three Cheese Fondue

Makes 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients:
1 cup white wine
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 pound grated Gruyere cheese
1/2 pound grated Swiss cheese
1/2 cup grated Edam cheese
3-1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon brandy
Freshly ground black pepper and nutmeg to taste
Dippers, such as bread cubes and cut up vegetables

Directions:
1. Combine the wine and lemon juice in a saucepan and bring to a simmer.

2. Combine the three cheeses and toss with the cornstarch. Gradually add the cheeses to the wine mixture and stir until the cheese melts.

3. Stir brandy into the melted cheese and season with pepper and nutmeg. Serve in a fondue pot or in a heated crock pot with dippers.

Smoked Salmon Dip

Makes 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
1/4 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 cups smoked salmon
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
Crackers
Cut up vegetables

Directions:
1. In a food processor, blend cream cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, horseradish and salt until smooth.

2. Add salmon and walnuts and pulse to combine. Sprinkle with dill and serve with crackers or vegetables.

Sparkling Love Potion

Makes 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients:
2 ounces simple syrup
16 ounces vodka
16 ounces pomegranate juice
1 bottle sparkling rose Champagne

Directions:
1. Combine simple syrup, vodka and pomegranate juice in a large pitcher, stiring well to dissove simple syrup.

2. Fill Champagne glasses about 3/4 of the way full with pomegranate mixer and top with Champagne to serve.
