Tropical smoothie Popsicle recipe

Quench the summer heat with a smoothie turned into a Popsicle. Not only are these great for kids big or small, they are a healthy way to sneak in fruit for even the pickiest of eaters.

Fruity, sweet and cold smoothies are great but can get a little boring at times. Take your favorite smoothie recipes to the next level and transform them into smoothie Popsicles. These icy cold treats are the perfect way to soothe that summer heat.

Tropical smoothie Popsicle recipe

Yields 4-6 Popsicles (depending on the type of mold used)

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe mango, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup ripe pineapple, peeled and chopped
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/2 cup skim milk (or vanilla almond milk)
  • 1/4 cup nonfat yogurt any flavor (I used vanilla)
  • 1 tablespoon good quality honey
  • 1 set of Popsicle molds (they are normally sold in one set of 6 molds)

Directions:

  1. In a blender, combine the mango, pineapple, banana, orange juice, milk, yogurt, and honey. Blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the mixture into each of the Popsicle molds, covering with their tops once all are filled.
  3. Place the molds into the freezer until frozen (time varies, but should be completely frozen within a couple of hours).

Berry banana smoothie Popsicle recipe

Yields 4-6 Popsicles (depending on the type of mold used)

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 3/4 cup strawberry nectar
  • 1 cup organic blueberries
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 teaspoon organic agave nectar (you can substitute 1 tablespoon sugar for the agave)
  • 1/4 cup raspberry sherbet
  • 1/4 cup nonfat yogurt (I used blackberry)
  • 1 set Popsicle molds

Directions:

  1. In a blender, combine the apple juice, strawberry nectar, blueberries, banana, agave nectar, raspberry sherbet and nonfat yogurt. Blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the mixture into each of the Popsicle molds, covering with their tops once all are filled.
  3. Place the molds into the freezer until frozen (times will vary, but should be completely frozen within a couple of hours)

Nectarine banana smoothie Popsicle recipe

Yields 4-6 Popsicles (depending on the type of mold used)

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 large ripe nectarines, peeled, pitted and chopped
  • 1 (6 ounce) container low-fat peach yogurt
  • 2/3 cup vanilla-flavored almond milk (substitute skim milk and add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract)
  • 1 teaspoon organic agave nectar (you can substitute 1 tablespoon sugar for the agave)
  • 1 set Popsicle molds

Directions:

  1. In a blender, combine the orange juice, banana, nectarine chunks, peach yogurt, almond milk (or skim milk and vanilla extract) and agave nectar. Blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the mixture into each of the Popsicle molds, covering with their tops once all are filled.
  3. Place the molds into the freezer until frozen (times will vary, but should be completely frozen within a couple of hours)
