It seems like you can get Starbucks coffee on every corner. With the company’s latest move, you’ll soon be able to get tea, too.
As Starbucks Corp. continues to grow, plans have been announced for the Seattle-based chain to open a 1,700 square foot Tazo tea shop near company headquarters in Seattle’s University Village this fall.

Tea blending bar
Although Starbucks currently sells their Tazo brand teas in their coffee shops, this new endeavor will focus solely on tea, selling tea lattes, iced teas and featuring a blending bar of more than 80 varieties of loose-leaf tea. Customers will be able to create their own custom mix with the help of a staff “tea partner,” which can be brewed in-store or purchased by the ounce to take home. As at any Starbucks shop, food and pastries will also be available for purchase, along with infused sugars and honeys for sweetening your brew.

Bigger and bigger
This is just one more way that Starbucks has chosen to expand beyond their 17,000 flagship stores. The company purchased Evolution Fresh Inc. juice brand for $30 million in November and recently bought San Francisco-based restaurant chain Le Boulanger Bakery for $100 million. Le Boulanger food items will begin replacing current selections in early 2013.
