One of the most well-known summer drinks in England is just about any cocktail made with Pimm’s No. 1 — an English spirit made with gin, fruit extract and spices. You’ll find many recipes for a Pimm’s Cup, but it’s often made with ginger ale (or you can replace the ginger ale with lemonade), cucumbers, citrus fruit, and Pimm’s No. 1. This drink is worth crossing the pond for, but you won’t have to with this recipe. You can find Pimm’s No. 1 in liquor stores and some specialty groceries.

Pimm’s Cup cocktail
Yields 1
Ingredients:
- 6-8 ounces of ginger ale
- 1-1/2 ounces Pimm’s No. 1
- 2 slices cucumber
- 1 slice lemon
- 1 slice lime
- 1 slice orange
- Ice cubes
Directions:
- Add the fruit and cucumber slices to a tall, 12-ounce glass and press down on them just slightly with the back of a spoon to release a little of their juices.
- Add ice cubes to about two inches below the top of the glass.
- Add the Pimm’s No. 1, then top with ginger ale.
Raise a glass and toast to the Olympics with a traditional English cocktail!
