Layered Nutella mousse in a jar

If you’ve never had Nutella, stop reading this, hop into your car or on your motorcycle or in your transporter, and get your booty to the store. Buy a jar, stick a spoon in it and let your taste buds explode. This creamy chocolate and hazelnut spread is the best thing to happen to jars since peanut butter. To celebrate the decadent taste of Nutella, we whipped up an easy, light-as-air mousse dessert with it, then stacked it between layers of cookies and whipped cream. Don’t you just love us?

This dessert is not only the most delicious recipe ever, but it’s one of the easiest. The only obstacles standing in your way of pure, blissful layered Nutella mousse jars are 5 ingredients and about 15 minutes of time. Just beware — you’ll want to eat 15 of these, so we recommend making only one to ease the temptation.

Layered Nutella mousse jars

Yields about 2 jars

Ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 3 – 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Nutella
  • 1 cup chopped Oreos
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Directions:

1

Pulse Oreos until very fine with butter

Place chopped Oreos and butter into the body of a food processor. Pulse on low until you have very fine crumbs.

Pour crumbs into a bowl and set aside.

2

Whip heavy whipping cream and sugar together

In a chilled bowl, add whipping cream. Using a hand electric mixer, beat the cream on medium until it starts to thicken. Add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, until sweet enough for your tastes. Keep whipping until a stiff peak forms in the cream, about 5 to 6 minutes.

Take half of the whipped cream and place into another bowl.

3

Whisk in Nutella to remaining half of whipped cream

Add the Nutella to the second half of the whipped cream and whisk in until fully combined.

4

Layer jars

Make sure your jars are dry. Then, starting with the Oreo crumbs, layer the mousse and whipped cream.

We did one layer of crumbs, one layer of Nutella mousse and one layer of whipped cream. For the top layer, we just added a little dollop of whipped cream.

5

Eat!

Once you’re done, step back and admire your handiwork. Then eat!
