Ice cream cone Santa hats recipe
Ingredients:
- Sugar cones
- Red candy melts
- White candy melts
- Red decorating sugar
- Miniature marshmallows
- Candy canes, crushed
- Vanilla ice cream
- Red and green M&M’s
Directions:
- Heat red candy melts according to package directions.
- If desired, break the top 2 inches off the cone. Dip each end of the broken cone into the melted candy. Fit cone back together at a tilted angle, using the candy as glue. Fill any holes with extra candy, layering on as it dries to make thicker. Hold until set, then let dry completely. (To make straight Santa hats, skip this step.)
- Reheat red candy melts if needed. Using a small foam brush, coat the entire cone in melted candy. Immediately sprinkle liberally with red decorating sugar. Let dry completely.
- Place a miniature marshmallow carefully onto the point of each cone.
- Heat white candy melts according to package directions.
- Dip the bottom of each cone about 1/2 inch into the melted candy. Coat with crushed candy canes. Let dry completely.
- When ready to serve, let ice cream soften, then mix red and green M&M’s into it, creating a swirl effect. Return to the freezer to set back up.
- Serve Santa hats on top of ice cream.
