Cheese owls
Ingredients:
- Mini Babybel cheese wheels
- Slices of cheddar cheese
- Whole almonds
- Cream cheese
- Peppercorns
Directions:
Make owl ears
With a 3/4-inch round cutter, slice the top center area of the Babybel cheese to form the owl’s ears.
Make owl eyes
For the eyes, cut two circles of cheddar cheese, slicing one of them into a half-moon shape, then fitting them together.
Attach eyes
Attach them to the owl with a bit of cream cheese. Add large circles of cream cheese on top of the eyes.
Punch out cheese holes
Punch out tiny circles of cheddar cheese — made by using a paper hole punch or a straw to use for the eyes and the body.
Finish eyes, body, beak and wings
Place two of the tiny cheddar cheese circles on top of the cream cheese. For the blacks of the eyes, add some peppercorns with a dot of cream cheese. Place more tiny circles of cheese for the center of the owl’s body, securing them in place with cream cheese. Cut the tip of an almond to use for the beak, adding cream cheese to keep it in place. For the wings, cut a circle of cheddar cheese and slice it in half. Add some cream cheese on the tips and attach to the sides of the owl’s body.
Enjoy!
