Here we share a nontraditional burger recipe, which is great for those who do not to eat red meat but still want to enjoy a yummy burger off the grill. The rosemary mayo really adds just a touch of flavor to these already delicious chicken burgers.
Spinach and feta chicken burgers recipe
Serves 4
Ingredients:
For the chicken burgers
- 1 pound ground chicken breast
- 4 cloves garlic, mashed or pressed in a garlic press
- 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1-1/2 cups fresh baby spinach, roughly chopped
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg, mixed
For the rosemary mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup good-quality mayonnaise (low fat or fat free are fine to substitute)
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, very finely chopped
- Zest from one lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- In a small bowl add all of the ingredients for the mayonnaise and mix well. Cover and keep in the refrigerator until ready to use.
- In a mixing bowl add all of the ingredients for the chicken burgers mixing very well. Form into 4 patties and place in the freezer on a plate lined with wax paper for about 10 minutes. This will help the burgers be easier to handle as they tend to be very sticky.
- Lightly oil your grill grate and place the chicken burgers on the grill. Cook 5-7 minutes per side or until the center is cooked completely and no longer pink.
- Serve on fresh toasted buns and spread with the rosemary mayonnaise. Top with your favorite fixings and serve immediately.
