Yoga in the City: Wanderlust Festival hits the road

After experiencing 400 percent growth from 2009 to 2010, the yoga-centric Wanderlust is launching a Yoga in the City tour around the United States. Previously held only in Lake Tahoe, this year Wanderlust is hosting free one-day events in communities from Los Angeles to New York. Read on to see if Yoga in the City is coming to a city near you.
After experiencing 400 percent growth from 2009 to 2010, the yoga-centric Wanderlust is launching a Yoga in the City tour around the United States. Previously held only in Lake Tahoe, this year Wanderlust is hosting free one-day events in communities from Los Angeles to New York. Read on to see if Yoga in the City is coming to a city near you.

Outdoor yoga events

If you’ve every dreamed of holding a yoga pose near your favorite landmarks, such as the Space Needle in Seattle or in the middle of the Hudson River in New York, you have a chance to make your dream a reality. This spring and summer, Wanderlust and Smartwater have partnered to offer yogis around the country outdoor yoga instruction by top yoga instructors, live music, and a way for communities to join together in supporting Off the Mat, Into the World, a non-profit that uses the power of yoga to inspire conscious, sustainable activism and to ignite grassroots social change.

Unwind and recharge with yoga

Wanderlust Yoga In The City is providing yogis with a day full of relaxation and rejuvenation. Yogis from beginner to guru can unwind in the Smartwater stress-less lounges and go straight from work to workout with a quick outfit change at C9 by Champion’s on-site tents. “We created Wanderlust Yoga in the City with Smartwater to take the music and yoga phenomenon to a whole new level,” says Jeff Krasno, Wanderlust’s co-founder. “Together we are able to unite the community to support an amazing charity, enjoy some awesome music, sweat out the day’s stress through yoga, and meet likeminded people.”

Make healthy changes with Smartlife Facebook app

Wanderlust Yoga In The City and Smartwater have also kicked off Smartlife, a Facebook application that leads participants through a series of positive goals that benefit their health, the environment and their community. The Smartlife application also allows participants to invite friends and family to help complete their smartlife goals and to support Wanderlust’s charity partner, Off the Mat, Into The World, in their mission of empowering individuals to transform their lives and their communities through the power of yoga.
