Candy cane skillet cookie recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup unwrapped Hershey’s Kisses candy cane-flavored candies
  • Crushed candy cane and vanilla ice cream for topping (optional)

Directions:

  1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Place an 8-inch skillet over low heat, and melt the butter.
  3. Once the butter has melted, turn off the heat, and remove the skillet from the burner.
  4. Whisk the sugar into butter until dissolved.
  5. Add the vanilla and egg to combine.
  6. Whisk in the baking soda, powder and salt, and add the flour a little at a time, stirring slowly to keep all the ingredients in the skillet. You might want to use a rubber spatula to scrape the sides.
  7. Once all the ingredients are well combined, mix in the Hershey’s Kisses candy cane-flavored candies.
  8. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
  9. Top with ice cream and crushed candy cane pieces.
