Chocolate French toast bake recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf French bread, sliced, discard the ends
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1 cup unwrapped Hershey’s Kisses milk chocolate
- Confectioner’s sugar
Directions:
- Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Layer the sliced bread in the pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, sugar and cocoa powder.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread, cover, and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.
- Remove the pan from the refrigerator.
- Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Sprinkle the sliced almonds on top.
- Bake for 30 minutes, and then remove from the oven.
- Sprinkle the Hershey’s Kisses milk chocolate evenly over the top.
- Bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the custard is set and center is cooked through.
