Halloween is right around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about how we want to celebrate one of the most fun nights of the year. First, put up your scariest outdoor decorations and then transform the inside of your house into a mini haunted mansion. Now, put on your best costume and start preparing your Halloween feast. After the trick-or-treaters have gone home and you’re snuggled up on the couch watching all of the best horror movies, we suggest making a Halloween charcuterie board that’s filled with enough snacks to last all night long. A Halloween charcuterie board is also a show-stopping centerpiece for any get-togethers you may be planning and it’s actually way easier to make than you’d think. First, here are the ingredients you’ll need to get started:
Ingredients:
- Clementines
- Airheads (just the green ones)
- Reese’s ghosts
- Black gel icing
- Brie cheese
- Olives
- Pimento cheese dip
- Fruit spread
- Honey
- Concord grapes
- Tiger figs
- Havarti cheese
- Cheddar cheese
- Goat cheese
- Blue cheese
- Prosciutto
- Salami
- Soppressata
- Sandwich cookies
- Gummy worms
- Apple slices
- Crackers
- Raspberries
- Blackberries
- Nuts of choice
Directions:
- Make the clementine pumpkins by peeling them and creating a small hole in the top with a knife or toothpick. Cut a thin strip of green Airhead candy and then curl it to look like a pumpkin stem. Place the airhead in the top of the clementine.
- Take the black gel icing and pipe eyes and an open mouth onto the white Reese’s ghosts. Let the icing dry completely before you put the ghosts on the board.
- Use a toothpick to create a coffin outline on your brie cheese then use a knife to cut out the shape. Use the same black icing you used for the ghosts to pipe the letters “RIP” onto the cheese.
- Start by placing the biggest items on the board first. Fill four glass jars with fruit spread, honey, olives and pimento cheese dip and place those down first.
- Add decorative gourds.
- Place bunches of concord grapes in the corners.
- Place the brie cheese coffin, clementine pumpkins and ghosts.
- Slice tiger figs into quarters and place the pieces on the board.
- Slice all of the cheese you want cut on the board. I chose to slice the Havarti and cheddar and leave the blue cheese and goat cheese whole.
- Place cured meats near the cheese.
- Add Halloween sandwich cookies to the board.
- Place small bunches of gummy worms on the board.
- Slice up an apple and add the slices to the largest free space available.
- Fill remaining large spaces with crackers.
- You should only have small spaces left by now and you can fill them up with raspberries, blackberries and your favorite nuts.
- Add some creepy crawlies or skeletons on top and you’re ready to dig in!
