Giada De Laurentiis Has a Genius Hack for Turning Store-Bought Stuffing Into a Gourmet Dish

Of course, we all love a dish made entirely from scratch but on Thanksgiving morning when you’ve got the Turkey, potatoes, pies, casseroles and cranberry sauce to worry about, cutting the corners a little bit on the stuffing is A-OK in our book. Luckily, Giada de Laurentiis, chef extraordinaire, has some easy and delicious tips to turn that store-bought stuffing into a dish that tastes just as good as homemade.

“I would say add fresh herbs and fresh vegetables to it as much as you can,” De Laurentiis tells SheKnows in an exclusive interview. “Add fresh fennel, carrots and celery, fresh herbs like thyme and rosemary — things that really create an aroma and depth of flavor.”

And if you want to really kick up the flavor in your stuffing, De Laurentiis has a suggestion for that too.

“If you like something spicy a little Calabrian chili would be really nice in there. It’s warmth and heat but it’s a nice balance between the two and smoked paprika and smoked salt is also amazing,” De Laurentiis told SheKnows.

De Laurentiis must really love those Calabrian chilis because she also featured them in this recent one-pot pasta recipe.
