The two-time Wimbledon champion said on June 27 that if was able to play at Wimbledon -- as he has did on Thursday -- then he would likely retire after the Paris Olympics. Murray faced a race against time to be fit to play in his final tournament at the All England Club after undergoing a procedure to address a spinal cyst on June 22. He subsequently withdrew from his first-round singles match on Tuesday, but confirmed that he would play in the men's doubles. However, the 37-year-old's Wimbledon farewell got off to a difficult start on Thursday as he was knocked out of the men's doubles in the first round alongside his older brother, Jamie, with a 7-6 (6), 6-4 loss to Australian pair Rinky Hijikata and John Peers. Speaking after the match, Murray discussed coming to terms with the end of his playing career. "I would love to keep playing, but I can't physically. It is too tough now. All of the injuries, they've added up. ... They haven't been insignificant. But yeah, I want to play forever," Murray told the BBC. "I love the sport. It's given me so much, taught me loads of lessons over the years that I can use for the rest of my life. But yeah, I don't want to stop, so it is hard." Murray also hinted that he might be interested in taking up coaching in his post-playing career. Asked if he was a good tennis watcher, Murray said: "It depends who I'm watching. I hate watching my brother. I find it really difficult to watch my brother play. But yeah, I love tennis. I watch it all the time. I'd probably be more comfortable sitting up there in a coaching box than somewhere else." Murray is due to take to the court again this week after Wimbledon organisers announced on Wednesday that he had entered the mixed doubles draw alongside fellow Brit Emma Raducanu after the pair were given a wild-card entry. The mixed doubles competition begins on Friday. 6861816dad741d27702a88e977dcf2ce 27edcde8690640ffb8529a80db6fb67d Maxresdefault E2c90610a899ecdaa78d84ced0dc0ea7 Mustang Base Interior Is The Ipads ?auto=webp&auto=webp&optimize=high&quality=70&width=1440 Abbd0debde55c6881d4a6d7215ab3533 B9051dc66b6cc0180c2de08ec3235131 Int1 2024 Mustang Interior 03 34e2b2725215e4a98cc9de5d0b024a7b 232707a8ff516e33099e7a7ee122e095 42377457465 0375037ed4 O 1d355228b0f0f0d57cdd8fa8fa8d8a8f Fefd9e3b9d094c03365fc8e5cd4dda19 48850655722 C99be2513f O D93d5554b799cbf448d542fc113e9a26 29411055628 A0046ea259 O 2024 Toyota Corolla Interior 48850126703 Fdaaecb99b O 48850670447 8bd5f76997 O A8ab4132b52bc435c9de9e20bd3b60ef 4ffefc926645243480715798e392aff7 American Interior Design New On Excellent Brilliant Home Interiors A21a8d9328d944057ba7123d63f1e387 5ea0275b93770e2428ae93d7fc961cff 48850665582 D6889405b6 O 0415 AD HAMP01 01 12c0cf3e90552b1bd2a06d8fa12b8b3a 53e36c9b9b808cdc022565e680163bc3 48850457231 85d1c03a1a O 3207e5c263a859cc56e99dcb3e1526cc 37319590c894b9da9566860ee76d0151 669727615f3f85e61db0d0c253461298 7200d2ed990d1d24a40c42d5b3a978ec IMG 1107 987x1024
