Course of the Force run 2013

Being able to interact with fellow Star Wars enthusiasts is not the only reason to register for Course of the Force. Due to the huge success of last year’s event, this year is going to be even bigger and better.

Grab your lightsaber

Course of the Force is an epic relay run created by Nerdist Industries and Lucasfilm. The whole purpose of this run is to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation chapters around Greater Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Orange County and San Diego. For the second year in a row this run will keep its quirky Star Wars theme, but will add a little more distance. This year participants will be starting July 9 at Skywalker Ranch and make their way through San Francisco. Runners will end their journey July 16 in San Diego. Along this nearly 500-mile run, runners will stop along the way to check out the “Conivals.” These areas will be filled with expo booths, live entertainment and exciting giveaways.

Make-A-Wish

Make-A-Wish is a non-profit organization dedicated to granting final wishes to children facing life-threatening illness. On average, this organization grants a child’s wish every 38 minutes. As of 2013, over 250,000 children around the world have had their wishes granted. While this program grants last wishes, it also promotes hope and strength to those who need it most.

How to register

Each participant will donate $150 to enter the race and will be given a fun-filled Course of the Force goodie bag along with a customized Hasbro lightsaber. The Make-A-Wish Foundation will receive 100 percent of all the proceeds raised. In addition, all registered runners will be eligible to win limited-edition Course of the Force prizes. Star Wars-themed outfits are highly encouraged.
