The Moonwalk — New York
If you got it, flaunt it, baby! This power walk is dedicated to raising money for giving New Yorkers the best care possible for those diagnosed with breast cancer. Fortunately, this is no ordinary walk. The participants wear bras they customize with anything from sparkling rhinestones to feisty animal prints. Join the event to help Walk the Walk America donate funds to Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Breast Examination Center of Harlem.
FenwaYoga — Boston
This one is dedicated to all of you yogis out there! Enjoy a yoga class run by first-class instructors in one the most famous ballparks in America. The Boston Red Sox host the Fenway Yogathon to support Red Sox Scholars and RBI baseball and softball programs.
Light the Night Walk — multiple locations
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society funds treatments and research that save precious human lives. You can become a part of this by holding a balloon and walking with thousands of other people. The sea of illuminated balloons have special meanings to each person who holds it — white for survivors, gold for loved ones who have passed due to cancer and red for supporters.
Polar Plunge — New York
Channel your inner polar bear with this fundraiser. There is only one reason you would jump into icy waters, and that is to raise money for the Special Olympics. Polar Plunge encourages you to wear the craziest costumes you have to take the plunge. The playful environment is fun for the whole family — if you dare.
Undy 5000 — multiple locations
The Colon Cancer Alliance, Inc. hosts one of the most fun runs of the year — the Undy 5000! Run or walk in your undergarments to raise money for colon cancer and raise awareness. The family-friendly event raises money for life-saving prevention, support programs and research.
