Univfy has released a new package of fertility tests that can predict your IVF success rate while factoring in the costs.
The Univfy IVF Success Program was designed on a technology developed at Stanford University. It includes a prediction test and a cost calculator that women can use for a year. It costs a one-time fee of $100 to enroll.
The steep costs of IVF
IVF can run about $8,000 to $20,000 per treatment, and many women are not covered for it under their health insurance. Fertility clinics offer a variety of IVF options, such as multi-cycle discount packages and IVF refund programs. Univfy users can enter their success probability into the cost calculator along with financial specs to view an apples-to-apples comparison of their specific chances of having an IVF baby in one, two or three IVF treatments — along with how much it will cost per scenario.
Within that year, patients can take any of the prediction tests to evaluate their chances of success with IVF, and also utilize the cost calculator to choose an appropriate IVF package.
“The Univfy IVF Success Program delivers accurate, personalized analyses to help each woman make more confident decisions about her fertility,” said the company’s co-founder & CEO Mylene Yao, M.D., a former OB-GYN and Stanford University fertility researcher.
“Life throws curveballs at you, and factors weighing into your fertility decisions can change over time. The ability to update your IVF success probability during a 12-month period can help to relieve some of the stress that comes from figuring out next steps, enabling couples to take next steps sooner. That’s important since time is of essence when it comes to fertility.”
Fertility factors
In using the tests over and over as factors change, patients can gain insights to make decisions pertaining to different phases of their fertility journey.
The technology behind the system differs in measuring IVF success from how it used to be done. Instead of looking at the average success rates of other women in the same age range, it leverages advanced statistical methods to offer more accurate predictions. Multiple fertility factors are measured including ovarian reserve data, body mass index, reproductive health history, as well as male factors.
The test results have been shown to be 1,000 times more accurate than IVF success rates based on age alone. More than 50 percent of patients tested had a higher chance of IVF success than their age alone would suggest.
The prediction tests are available separately for one-time use: Univfy PreIVF is $50 and Univfy PredictIVF is $100.
Univfy also launched Your Fertility, a platform of free, original interactive and multimedia fertility health content to help people learn more about fertility. It will include several educational fertility guides, such as Fertility 101 and Myths and Facts.
