A man looking for the ultimate missed connection took out an ad on Craiglist recently to find the labor nurse who delivered his wife’s baby. Yes, you read that right. Take a moment to process this striking moment in douchebag history. It’s a shocker.
The horrifyingly inappropriate ad ran in Jacksonville, North Carolina. It more or less asked for the digits (and probably more) of the woman who helped bring this man’s child into the world. Assuming this is not a hoax (and let’s face it, it might be), this is one of the more despicable Craigslist ads… ever. And we are talking about a place where people go to exchange bodily fluids.
The ad said:
This is probably a long shot but you were the nurse taking care of my wife while she was having our baby. I enjoyed our eye contact and would really like to talk to you more. Maybe tomorrow I will be there most of the day and I will bump in to you in the hall way or see you at the nurse station. (sic)
Look, I don’t know about you, but the moments after my three babies were born were some of the most loving of my life. And not just the love I felt for my child. The way my husband looked at me after I gave birth to our kids was beautiful. It was a heady mix of awe, adoration and pure emotion that I can’t imagine not having.
My heart breaks for this woman whose husband was also having these moments… with the labor nurse.
I mean, hell, let’s give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she was really, really hot. Maybe. Even so, what woman would ever choose to be with a man she met that way? How could she face herself?
In her defense, the labor nurse is not the cad here. She is not the one stepping out on a relationship or thinking incredibly inappropriate thoughts at the moment her child is born. My heart breaks for the wife here, but also for the child. Still, the person being cheated the most is this man.
How awful do you have to be to look for love this way? He has a newborn. Try getting up in the middle of the night and helping your wife, dude. That’ll cure you of those impure thoughts real quick. If this is real (and I hope it’s not), this is a man with some serious issues. Luckily I choose to believe there is not a woman on this earth who would fall for a man like that.
And if she was looking at him that way, if they did have a missed connection, then maybe they deserve each other. Personally, I’d rather know that about my husband sooner rather than later. Maybe his wife can have her second child with a man who actually respects her.
