When either the mid-morning or mid-afternoon stomach grumbles begin, avoid the vending machine chips, candy bars and packages of cookies. Instead, opt for healthy snacks like fruit or nuts. Fresh items, instead of processed foods, are always a good choice as you can bypass the added chemicals and preservatives of processed foods.
Nancy Tan, a 22-year-old advertising account executive, is always kept busy with trying to please clients and meeting hectic deadlines. She enjoys snacking on cherry tomatoes and fruit throughout the day. She also drinks plenty of water in order to keep herself hydrated.
“[Healthy snacks and water] really give me the extra lift I need…and constantly going to the restroom keeps me on my toes, too,” says Tan.
Campbell suggests snacking on things like raisins, baby carrots or apples while you are on the go. Snacking on healthy foods between meals can ensure your blood sugar stays level, prevents fatigue and, more crucially, prevents binge eating.
