Skipping breakfast is all too common and it can actually lead to fatigue and eventual food binges, because your body needs a morning meal — especially after not eating all night. Breakfast is often described as “the most important meal of the day” because it gives you the fuel to get you through your day, and helps to keep your mind focused and alert. Make time for breakfast.

Wheat pancakes and eggs, for instance, will provide an adequate amount of calories, protein and fibre to keep you full and energised until lunch time.

If you don’t have time for a substantial breakfast, you can get by with a breakfast bar – just don’t make a habit of it. Also, read the labels and go for a muesli bar that is low in sugar and high in protein and fibre.
