What LBL product is right for you?

Light bladder leakage (LBL) can happen to anyone. In fact one in three women over the age of 35 experiences it on a daily basis. It can happen due to laughing too hard, you can lift something too heavy, even the sound of running water may trigger symptoms. The good news is you don’t have to become a hermit and resort to wearing adult nappies.

Light Bladder Leakage

Light bladder leakage (LBL) can happen to anyone. In fact, one in three women over the age of 35 experiences it on a daily basis. It can happen due to laughing too hard, you can lift something too heavy, even the sound of running water may trigger symptoms. The good news is you don’t have to become a hermit and resort to wearing adult nappies.

Fortunately, there are some fabulous products available which help keep you dry, reduce odour associated with any leakage and save you 50 shades of embarrassment. So what LBL product is right for you?

There are three mains types of protection for LBL. They look and feel like regular sanitary pads and liners, but they are designed to be much more absorbent and feature a top layer which draws wetness to its super-absorbent core which keeps you feeling dry and fresh. So even if you have a leak, there’s no reason why you should freak.

The lowdown on liners

Liners come in three different sizes — light, regular and extra long. All are made with breathable fibres which help keep you feeling fresh and an absorbent core which helps reduce odours. They are also small and discreet so you can wear them with your tight gym gear without it being noticeable.

Light Liners

Designed for everyday use, the Light Liners are great for those days when you’re dealing with allergies or fighting off a cold. Don’t let the odd sneaky sneeze surprise you with an unpleasant “spritz” (the term Whoopi Goldberg uses to refer to her light bladder leakage).

Regular Liners

Three times more absorbent than light liners, the Regular Liners are designed for women on the go. Whether you’re straining to lift weights at the gym, or racing around after toddlers, regular liners provide assurance that you’ll stay fresh and dry.

Extra Long Liners

When you’re working out hard in a group fitness class or playing a physical sport, these liners are extra long, extra absorbent and have stay-in-place protection, so when you’re sweating your buns off, it won’t bunch up or require you to fidget to get comfortable.

Ultrathins

These feature the discreetness of a sanitary pad but with more absorbency and they come in two sizes — regular and super. They are more absorbent than liners but are still discreet enough to be worn under tight clothing.

Regular Ultrathins

Designed for bladder weakness or menstrual cycles, Regular Ultrathins provide protection during more energetic sports, during those uncontrollable coughing fits that often accompany chest infections, during pregnancy, after you’ve given birth and when you’re working on getting your pelvic floor muscles back up to scratch.

Super Ultrathins

For women with light to moderate LBL. The added length provides more comfort and extra protection especially when leakage occurs regularly. They are ideal for when you have an ongoing chronic cough, or when your access to a toilet might be limited.

Regular Pads

When bladder leakage is an everyday occurrence, Regular Pads feature soft sides designed for all-day comfort. The perfect solution for when you have a chronic cough or limited access to toilets.

Super Pads

When you’re not able to reach the toilet fast enough, bladder loss can be up to one cup at a time. The soft side shield helps to ensure all-day comfort and any fluids are captured and locked away.

Extra Pads

Peace of mind for when the bladder may empty its entire contents at one time. It’s also shaped to the curve of your body for long-lasting comfort.

Extra Pads Plus

These are specifically designed for women who require extra protection, with each pad being 360 millilitres long and holding up to 350 millilitres of fluid.

Overnight Pads

The most absorbent pad with stay-in-place protection, it holds up to 500 millilitres of urine in a thin discreet pad format. Specifically designed for women who require extra protection, they are ideal for overnight use.
