If you are in your 30s and single, never fear. As it turns out, not only do you have all the men in their 30s and 40s still ripe for the picking, you also have full access to men in their 20s. Don’t believe me? A new study from Elite Singles has found that men in their 20s are actually looking for older women. Yes, please!
According to the study, men between 20 and 29 prefer to date older women. And while older men do want younger women, the most they want a woman to be younger is by 11 years. Not so bad, right?
I haven’t been on the dating scene in 14 years, to be honest. And even when I was, I never really was (I always had a boyfriend), but even so, I remember being in my very early 20’s and already knowing it was a jungle out there. There’s no question that dating can be hard and disheartening, so this is nice!
But why do these young guys like older women?
A psychologist told Huffington Post that it was the sense that older women are more established and know themselves better. But it could also just be that women who are a little older are better in bed. True story. Sorry young ‘uns! You’ll get there.
In all seriousness, it sounds like women are the ones who need to get with the program. They still prefer dating older men. Because we can’t kill one cliche without having another. Such a shame. Still, we are moving in a good direction. Every woman I know who has dated a younger man says they are fun and cute and it evens the playing field when it comes to men dying earlier. But that’s a different story.
