One military couple brought everyone to tears over Memorial weekend (PHOTO)

A special moment between a bride and groom has gone viral this Memorial Day, and one look will show you why.

U.S. Marine Cpl. Caleb Earwood wanted a quiet moment to pray with his bride-to-be before they walked down the aisle, but they didn’t want to break tradition by seeing each other before the ceremony. Friends and family stepped in to make it happen, and what happened next was incredibly touching.

“They hid me in a room and he stepped up on the stairwell and he stuck his hand out and I grabbed his hand,” bride Maggie Earwood told ABC News today.

The couple’s photographer, Dwayne Schmidt, captured the moving moment and shared it as a sneak peek for the couple on his Facebook page.

“As soon as their hands touched he started getting emotional,” Schmidt told ABC News. “The whole room was full of emotion. I tried not to cry and focus on what I was doing.”

The groom prayed for their marriage and asked that they be role models for younger couples.

“It broke me down,” Maggie said, “to know that we felt the same way about God. It just made me happy.

“There were no dry eyes in the room.”

The photo has gone viral, with close to 38,000 likes and more than 5,900 shares on Facebook.

“So many people are emailing me,” Schmidt said, “saying thank you for sharing this. It’s what America is supposed to be about.”

It’s a wonderful image summing up special moments in military life at home on this Memorial Day.
