Simone Anderson has been fearless about showing her body after losing 194 pounds in less than a year, thanks to healthy eating, exercise and weight loss surgery.
But the New Zealand makeup artist’s documentation of her “journey to health” on Instagram hasn’t been without criticism. In July, Anderson posted a before and after picture of her transformation. The jaw-dropping photo earned her plenty of comments from followers claiming she faked the pictures because she had a different hair color in her after photo and she didn’t appear to have stretch marks.

Anderson’s amazing body confidence was apparent before and after her skin surgery. “I needed to show that yes, I do have loose skin, and it’s actually a side effect of something I am proud of,” she told the magazine of documenting her body on social media.

“[I’m looking forward to] the fact that when I’m exercising I won’t need to tuck my loose skin into my pants, and know that I can put on a top like everyone else and not stress out about loose skin coming out,” she added to People of what she’s looking forward to most.
And we’re confident she’ll continue to inspire thousands with her incredible outlook on life.
