On Thursday, you’ll have two choices when you pull up the Uber app: fetching a ride or getting a flu shot delivered directly to your door.
From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., UberHEALTH will deliver a wellness pack — including a water bottle, tissues, hand sanitizer, a lollipop and a recyclable tote — right to your door for only $10.

You can also request a free flu shot for you and up to 10 others along with your wellness pack.
Don’t worry, though: A random Uber driver won’t be giving you a shot. Instead, the company has partnered with Passport Health to bring registered nurses to your home and, like with any medical procedure, it’ll remain confidential between you and the nurse.

Why flu shots? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that somewhere between 5 and 20 percent of the population gets the flu each year, with about 200,000 people hospitalized from complications. The shot — though sometimes controversial — can help increase your chances of staying healthy during the germy winter months. Plus, “convenience and delivery method are both key components of many people’s decision of whether or not to get a flu shot,” Uber wrote in a blog post.
The downside: Only 35 cities across the United States are participating. But if you’re in one of the locations, it’s quite the deal. And if you’re not? Check your insurance, because many plans offer free flu shots for customers, or find a way to fight it naturally.
