Not many couples are lucky enough to have an engagement photo that looks like something out of a romantic movie, but one British couple got just that — thanks to a complete stranger.
However, things didn’t turn out quite as planned.

Michael Kent pulled out all the stops when he proposed to his girlfriend Fiona Newlands during a romantic trip to Reykjavík, Iceland. Kent got down on one knee in the snowy streets and popped the question, a moment that kind stranger (and photographer) Jessica Bowe managed to capture.
Bowe and Kent exchanged email details, but in his excitement he ended up giving her the wrong information. Kent decided to take to social media to try to find Bowe, writing that if they “could find that picture it’d be incredible.”

Bowe was also thrilled to share the experience, posting the sweet photo she took on her Instagram account with the heartwarming caption, “So, this was a special night. I was leaving Bravó after a few happy Friday beers and snapping some pics of the lovely falling snow, with Hallgrímskirkja church in view up Skólavörðustígur, on my usual way home when this couple got engaged on the spot. I gave them a moment and then asked if they would like to have this picture as a memento. The man’s hands were trembling as he entered his email address on my phone, and I got some nice hugs of appreciation. Sometimes you’re just in the right place at the right time.”
The Internet reacted in the best way, giving Kent some wonderful news to share on Facebook.
Congratulations to the happy couple — we always love reading a beautiful story.
