The same conversation happens every year during the holiday season.
“Aren’t your afraid of being alone forever?” your nosy-but-well-meaning aunt asks you at the dinner table. “Whatever happened to what’s-his-name? I thought he’d make a good husband.”

If you’re over it (and I totally get it), then you might want to mark Jan. 3, 2016, on your calendar. That’s the day online dating websites Plenty of Fish and Match say is the best to find love, because that’s when the most eligible men are online looking for love.
“This heavy influx of traffic falls within Match’s ‘Peak Season,’ which spans from December 25 to February 14 annually, when the world’s largest dating site sees a 60% spike in new members,” a rep for Match said in a press release.

Plus, it’s the middle of cuffing season, the special time of year when people seek out cuddle partners to keep them warm during the frigid winter months.
While the online dating sites both agree Jan. 3 is the best day to find love, they don’t agree on the perfect time. According to Match, the best time for love is at exactly 8:52 p.m. EST, while Plenty of Fish says the best time is at 5 p.m. EST. So, what are we to do? Just split the difference and log on about 6:30 p.m., I’d say.
And if you don’t find a potential partner that day? Well, you still have another 10 months before Thanksgiving rolls around again… and if all else fails, you can just rent a boyfriend for the day.
