New book says eating tacos every day can cleanse your system

This is one cleanse we can get behind, even if we’re not actually sure it’ll help drop some weight.

The Taco Cleanse: The Tortilla-Based Diet Proven to Change Your Life is a newly-released book that claims eating tacos every meal of the day will help your chakras become “realigned into an optimal taco pattern.”

The four “taco scientists” behind the book — Wes Allison, Stephanie Bogdanich, Molly R. Frisinger and Jessica Morris — say they lost weight after eating tacos for 30 days straight, according to Yahoo.

Is this for real? Yes and no. The book is written in a tongue-firmly-in-cheek style, but the authors say that eating vegan tacos for a month — all made with plant-based recipes with ingredients like cauliflower, tempeh, beets and guacamole — “has been anecdotally proven to erase the ill effects of the previous night’s toxic indulgence.”

“Your life will become more fun and you will make more friends while consuming the required Margarita supplements on the plan,” added the super professional taco scientists, who undoubtedly did plenty of their own research for the book.

The book is currently sold out on Amazon, thanks in part to an enthusiastic endorsement from Jennifer Aniston. “Isn’t the corn tortilla, like, not that good for you?” she asked Yahoo Food during a recent interview, adding that it sounds “interesting.”

“I already ordered the book on Amazon!” she said at the end of the interview.

The authors say the health benefits of the all-tacos-all-the-time diet are “too numerous to name,” but they say “your sleep will improve as you begin to detox from the negative self images associated with other diets.”

Sorry, juice cleanse… this is the only detox “diet” I’m willing to try. I wonder if Jen will invite me over for some of those tacos? I’m sure the invite is coming.
