It’s a funny video and I am sure most of us can remember our first time seeing porn. Mine was when I was about 8 and I found my dad’s stash of magazines in a big box. I was so shocked by what I saw, I figured I needed to share. So I packed up my blue duffel bag stuffed full of porn and brought it off to school to pass out on the playground.

Needless to say, I was in trouble. So were my parents. But the feeling I remember so clearly was this odd mix of horror and attraction. It was both disgusting and exciting. Clearly, I was way too young. And the thing about porn is this: It’s got it all wrong.
Seriously.
Those guys who learn how to give oral sex from porn do this horrible dog shaking head thing that is the opposite of sexy. And newsflash: Women usually take a little longer than 3.5 seconds to have an orgasm. Also, most women don’t enjoy having different objects shoved into them or any number of the things that happen in porn that very infrequently happen in real life. I mean, sure. We all like to get a little kinky now and then, but by and large, sex is something very different than porn shows.

Which is what makes porn dangerous. It sets these unrealistic expectations. Especially when viewed at a young age. Impressionable minds just don’t need to see such things.
Porn is for grownups and honestly, the older I get, I wonder if it’s even for us.
