What are you hoping to do on Valentine’s Day? If the answer to that is “break up,” a company has just the thing for you.
Vift, an online “video gift” platform that allows you to send audio or video messages that arrive at the same time as a package delivery, is offering a special Break-Up Kit for Valentine’s Day. The kit allows you to send a farewell gift to your soon-to-be-ex via the mail, along with a personal video that arrives at the same time via text or email.

The Break-Up Kit comes in three different sizes: The “I’m not ready to be in a profile picture with you” package ($50) that comes with a box of tissues and a three-month subscription to Netlfix; the we’re perfect… for other people” package ($250) that comes with the tissues and Netflix, along with a Snuggie, roses and chocolates; and the “I want to grow old without you package” ($3,200), which is a seven-day Alaskan Cruise.
OK, let’s get one thing out of the way: This is probably the coldest way to break up with someone and you shouldn’t do this unless you want to be a terrible person. It’s bad enough to be on the receiving end of a “it’s not you, it’s me” talk, but to add some corny gifts and a video message breakup delivered on Valentine’s Day is just adding insult to injury.

But, hey, do you.
That said, I’m pretty sure this is just a publicity stunt to get attention for Vift (mission accomplished). If you are on the receiving end of one of these gifts, just know that you got something else in addition to some pretty useful items: a single life free of a person who would pay to do something like this.
