It is so annoying when you’re with a friend and all they do is ignore you to play Diner Dash or Instagram a picture from their latest shopping haul, hashtag blessed, of course.
I’d imagine that it would be about 500 times worse if, instead of a friend, it was your significant other who wouldn’t get off their phone — oh, and it’s on your wedding night.

That’s what reportedly happened to a groom in Saudi Arabia. According to Gulf News, the newlyweds barely made it to their marital suite before the bride pulled out her phone and started texting.
“Her groom tried to get closer with her and become more intimate, but he was shocked when she ignored him, not responding to his words and action,” an anonymous relative told Al Watan, a newspaper in Saudi Arabia.
“When he asked her about the reasons, she answered she was busy communicating with her friends who were congratulating her on her marriage on the mobile,” the relative continued. “The groom asked her to delay the messages, but she refused and became angry. When he asked her if her friends were more important than he was, the bride answered that they were.”

Ouch.
The pair got into a heated argument and the man left the hotel, saying he wanted a divorce. The court later tried to get them in front of a mediator to see if the marriage could be saved, but “his pride” made him go through with the divorce.
The communications skills — or lack thereof — this couple showed meant that, sadly, they would have probably divorced at some point anyway. One question remains: Who got to keep the wedding gifts?
