The push to include fewer airbrushed images in advertising is awesome — and helps us realize that no, even models don’t have so-called “perfect” bodies, despite what Photoshop tells us.

And more models are embracing their imperfectly perfect status.
Case in point: new mom Chrissy Teigen. The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model posted a close-up of her stretch marks on Snapchat Wednesday. “LOL My thighs have tributaries,” she wrote, along with the crying eyes emoji.
This isn’t the first time she’s shown them on social media. The 30-year-old showed her “stretchies” on Instagram in 2015.

It may seem like such a simple thing, but stretch marks are the great equalizer in our world — women of all ages, shapes and sizes have them. Me? I have tons of stretch marks all over my body; they’re all old, but the remnants still show on my body. On the other hand, some women don’t have them — like my mother — and it all comes down to DNA.
While I can’t say I love mine, I do appreciate that even famous women are learning to embrace their bodies as they are.
“I think we forget what normal people look like now,” Teigen told Meredith Vieira in 2015 of her decision to post her first stretchie snap. “I have those apps, the Facetune and photoshopping ones, and I just didn’t feel like doing it anymore.”
