A recently poll in British Columbia, Canada offers some interesting sex statistics that you may not have seen before now. I have listed some of the results of the poll that was done by Ipsos Reid.
20% of sexually active people actually have 80% of the sex
Younger people have more partners, but this does not increase their happiness or satisfaction level.
The more a person is dissatisfied with their sex life, the more likely they are to have more partners.
Married people in the range of 35-54 tend to be adventurous about sex toys and locations for sex. This group has had an average of 17 different sex partners.
14% of people over the age of 55 report having sex more than six times a month. Meanwhile, 40% of 18-34 year olds reported the same thing. Of those that responded, 73% of the 18-34 year old report being unmarried but in committed relationships.
The most sex is had by people that are unmarried, but in committed relationships.
Younger people are three times more likely to have sex over the Internet and four times more likely to have phone sex when compared to people over 55. They are also twice as likely to use porn with a sexual partner or to test the waters in BDSM and sadomasochism.
Despite all the excitement and adventure, the younger group did not report a higher level of sexual satisfaction.
The in-between group (35-54) claims the most sex partners with an average of 17 partners.
The 55 and older group is less likely to experience casual sex and they do not tend to use sex toys. However, their numbers are higher for sleeping with people who are married and not their spouse.
The average age to lose your virginity is about 16 years old.
Out of all groups, the average number of sex partners was 14 though 3/4 of people did not meet that average.
People with higher incomes have more sex. If you are considered rich you have the opportunity to get more sex than anyone else (or you could).
Men want sex 75% more than they get it, while women say they want it 58% more.
The younger you are, the better you think you are in bed.
This survey was taken by 1,571 people who live in B.C.’s Lower Mainland.
