Children’s hospital Holiday cards program
Many children’s hospitals offer holiday cards designed by their young patients to help fund their life-saving services. The Phoenix Children’s Hospital patient artists holiday cards campaign has been running for the past 23 years. Each year, the hospital selects patients to design their new holiday card collection and all profits help support the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

Brady H., of Phoenix, age 9, designed the “Snowman Smile” holiday card.Brady was diagnosed with a bone and skin cancer-like disease at just 15 weeks old. Since Brady completed chemotherapy at 19 months old, he has been in remission. He is a very active youngster and loves to skateboard with his brother and friends. Rosie G., of Mesa, age 18, designed the “Baby Reindeer” holiday card.In 2005, Rosie was diagnosed with cancerous brain tumor. During a lengthy surgery at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, 80% of the tumor was removed. Rosie is a movie buff and loves the 80’s movies. She also loves animals and has cats, birds, dogs and a fish. Mateo P., of Buckeye, age 7, designed the ‘Little Snowman’ holiday card.Mateo was diagnosed with tumor in 2007 and underwent surgery and chemotherapy to remove the tumor. Owen G., of Surprise, age 9, created the “Pretty Pinwheel” holiday card.Owen was diagnosed with a form of bone cancer in his leg in 2007. Since his diagnosis he has had numerous surgeries to save his leg. Owen was selected to receive an experimental implant called Repiphysis, where the bone inside his leg was replaced. Kelsey G., of Scottsdale, age 16, designed the“Pretty Poinsettia” holiday card which is sponsored by Blue Cross & Blue Shield. When Kelsey was 8 years old, she was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in her sinus cavity. Kelsey is now in remission and remains happy and optimistic. She has many interests, but loves baton, singing, dance, swimming, ice skating, drawing and scrapbooking. Kelsey’s goal in life is to help others. Adriana R., of Tempe, age 16, was inspired by her desert surroundings and created the “Coyote Christmas” holiday cardsponsored by Meridian Bank.In August of 2007, Adriana was diagnosed with cancer in her sinus cavity. She is now a healthy, active young woman who just started playing golf. Her goal is to inspire and help other kids who have cancer. Karlie O., of El Mirage, age 13, designed the “Warm Wishes” holiday cardsponsored by the Williams Real Estate Company. Karlie is an outgoing, friendly young girl who has been a patient at Phoenix Children’s Hospital since she was diagnosed with leukemia in 2002. Jazmine R., of Peoria, age 12, created the “Happy Holidays” card.Earlier this year Jazmine was diagnosed with cancer. Jazmine is a beautiful girl who was loves to dance and her favorite TV show is, “So You Think You Can Dance”. All things come in pairs at Jazmine’s house. She has two sisters, two cats and two dogs.
