Honeymoons and cruises go together like wedding cake and champagne. But to get the most out of your honeymoon cruise, you need to be in the know.
Getting sick is not romantic
This is not the time to discover that you get seasick. If you’ve never been on a boat, and won’t have time to check it out beforehand, talk to your doctor about possible motion sickness
remedies.
Book things in your maiden name and don’t forget your documents
It may seem romantic to book everything in your married name, but none of your travel documents will be in that name. This can be a real problem if your cruise is international. The cruise company
should inform you of any necessary paperwork or vaccinations you need, but make sure you have all of this information, and your passport in one handy-dandy place. It’s not a bad idea to leave
a copy of your passport and driver’s license at home with a trusted relative, in case of theft.
Flash your ring
Everyone loves honeymooners, as long as you’re polite of course. Try and drop in little hints that this is your honeymoon and you’ll be surprised at what sorts of extras the staff might
slip your way.
Do a little research on your destination
Your cruise ship will probably have tours arranged at most, if not all, of the stops the ship is making. With a little research, you’ll be able to decide if the cruise ship tours are right
for you, or if you might want to take off on your own for a bit.
Budget for alcohol and tips
Even if the cruise is all-inclusive when it comes to food, it won’t be for alcohol, and it may not include tips. It can be easy to overspend on alcohol when you don’t have to worry
about a designated driver, and you’re charging purchases to your room.
Safe journeys!
