Nicole Richie’s wedding dress: 3 Marchesa gowns

Nicole Richie‘s wedding dress looked like a fairy tale gown that every girl dreams of wearing to their wedding. Who designed her dress and what part did Richie have in it?

Nicole Richie has blossomed from a troubled twentysomething into a bona-fide style icon and her wedding dress choices (yes, choices!) reflect her style maturity.

The reality star and sometimes actress married Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden on Dec. 11 at the home of her father, Lionel Richie. The couple’s two children — Harlow and Sparrow — served as part of the wedding party as about 150 guests looked on.

Yes, we know what you’re thinking — what was Nicole Richie’s wedding dress like?

Nicole Richie wedding dress details

Richie wore three different gowns throughout her wedding night — all designed by the couture fashion house Marchesa. One even included a ball-gown skirt crafted from more than 100 yards of hand-draped silk organza and tulle petals, according to an exclusive People interview with the newlyweds. The inspiration for her dresses? Grace Kelly.

“It was magical,” Richie told People of her wedding.

Celebrity jeweler Neil Lane designed the couple’s wedding rings — he also designed Richie’s engagement ring.
