Don’t let a breakup devastate your life. Follow these tips to move forward and really get over your ex-husband or ex-boyfriend.
Don’t contact him for 60 days
No contact doesn’t mean just don’t see him…no phone calls, no texts, no vague Facebook messages. Cut him out of your life completely for 60 days — even if you plan on being friends in the future. This will give you the time you need to get your emotions under control and let the healing begin.
Get rid of his stuff
If you were married or in a long-term relationship, you probably have a lot of his things. Get them out of your house or apartment — but don’t call him to pick them up. Box up all his items and call a mutual friend to deliver them. If you don’t have a mutual friend, put them into storage until he can pick them up (after the 60-day period).
Have sex with someone else
You shouldn’t jump into a relationship with someone else. However, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t consider having sex. Whether it’s a friends with benefits situation, a bootie call with a hot acquaintance, or even a date with your vibrator, make sure you’re sexually satisified.
Let go of the resentment
If he cheated on you, then you probably are spending your days and nights plotting revenge or crying yourself to sleep. Let it go. It’s not as hard as you think. Keep your dignity intact. Take time to pamper yourself. Realize that your better off without him. Being happy is the best revenge against a loser.
