While there are many sentimental reasons for Larry Fitzgerald’s support for breast cancer awareness, it was refreshing to see Larry and his teammates trade in their jerseys to embrace their inner pink! But how much do these NFL players really know about breast cancer?
Larry Fitzgerald teamed up with Morton’s Steakhouse for his annual Celebrity Server event in memory of his mother, to help raise money for breast cancer research. The premise? The boys, who are usually serving up touch downs for Monday Night Football, become waiters to their most loyal fans who have come out to raise money for the cause.
The games begin
As SheKnows host Lauren Joskowitz so aptly put it before quizzing Paris Lenon, “I know that I know, because I’m a she, but I don’t know if he knows — so we’re going to test your breast cancer knowledge, OK?” And the game of true and false begins …
While we made sure to find out why this event hit home for the guys, we couldn’t resist having a little fun with the color pink. As the Arizona Cardinals geared up to exchange their uniforms for server’s aprons, we were busy picking up some pink hair extensions and nail polish to make sure they were properly accessorized for the event.
We color them pink
As these star athletes were put through some true-or-false doozies, the real test came when Lauren asked, “Would you rather show your support for breast cancer by dyeing your hair pink or painting your nails pink?”
Larry, founder of the Carol Fitzgerald Memorial Fund, went 2 for 3 in our myth-buster quiz. Others did better or worse, but all the players loved the pink-themed approach we took to this night of charity. The proof? Calais Campbell’s neon pink fingernail.
