There’s more to a Making Strides event than just showing up and walking. You’ve got to look the part! These are some of the best pink get-ups from past Making Strides events.
Be bold with boas
Attending a Making Strides event gives you a reason to play dress up, just like you did when you were little. Follow the lead of these ladies and wrap yourself in a pink boa, because fighting cancer is fabulous, and so are you, dahling.
Be bright
These women have the right idea. The brighter, the better at a Making Strides event. You’ll be in a sea of thousands of walkers, with most of them dressed in pink. To stand out, choose a bright hue that screams rock star.
Cowgirl up
Cowgirls are pretty tough, and that’s the way you’ve got to be to fight this fight. Put on your best cowgirl hat (but only if it’s pink!) and hit the road with Making Strides. Leave your cowgirl boots at home, though. You’re going to need your walking shoes for this trek.
Flaunt your flair
How many pieces of flair do you have? This lady has a ton, and she’s happy to flaunt it all. She’s wearing most of hers on her hat, but put yours wherever you want it. Pin it all to your jacket, sweatshirt or scarf. It doesn’t matter where you wear it, just that you do.
Wild and wacky
There’s no rhyme or reason to this woman’s get-up, and that’s just the way we like it. She’s got boas around her neck and some more tied around her wrists. And we must mention that fabulous pink hair. A Making Strides event is the perfect time to embrace the day and get crazy with your outfit. The day’s going to be a ton of fun, so dress the part!
Survivor shirt
You’ll see a lot of different get-ups gracing the streets on the day of a Making Strides event. Some are funny, some are beautiful, and some are sobering. None will touch your heart more than these “survivor” t-shirts. Just one glance and you’ll have tons of respect for the woman wearing it and the battle she fought. The fact that she’s still here to wear that shirt and walk beside you will be just enough to validate your efforts and encourage you to do even more.
Quick tip
Always layer up when you walk in a Making Strides event. They start early in the morning, when there’s a chill in the air. You’ll heat up fast once you start walking, though.
