Sure, going out is great, but why not surprise your guy with a home cooked spread of his favorite goodies? Pick up his go-to beverage and dessert if you don’t have time to make something sweet, light some candles and tell him to come to the table dressed for dinner. Even if his favorite meal is grilled cheese sandwiches, it’ll be special because you made it for him.

Forget the same old trip to the movies, this weekend plan something he’ll never expect. Think about what he likes to do (watch sports, check out local galleries, listen to live bands) and plan a night around something he really enjoys. It might be men who have the reputation for sending flowers and gifts, but that doesn’t mean they should get the monopoly on that gesture. Surprise him on a day you think he needs a pick-me-up by sending a gift to his office. It doesn’t have to be flowers.
