The new wave of exercise DVDs is much more than DVDs — they are unique, innovative workout plans.
PiYo
A fan of yoga and Pilates? Then this one’s for us! It’s a workout designed to use your own body to, well, sculpt your own body. (Beachbody, $60)
Jillian Michaels Body Revolution
We can’t forget about the queen of fitness — Jillian Michaels. I think you can bet your bottom dollar that a workout session with her will kick your butt pretty hard. (Amazon, $49)
Brazil Butt Lift
This is my favorite! Leandro Carvalho is cute and funny and he originally designed the workout for Alessandra Ambrosio — that’s right, the Victoria’s Secret supermodel. (Beachbody, $53)
21 Day Fix
OK, this program is taking over the fitness world by storm. Autumn Calabrese guides you through six workouts and a 21-day meal plan to shed major poundage. A must try! (Beachbody, $60)
The Master’s Hammer and Chisel
My friend, a huge fitness buff, recommended this one. It’s a 60-day program to get you from flab to fab. (Beachbody, $90)
TurboFire
I have not personally tried this one, but it is a favorite of many. If you want something high energy with aerobics and kickboxing, try TurboFire. (Beachbody, $80)
Dancing with the Stars workouts
If you’re more of the dance-type worker-outer — or if you’re just a fan of the show — try this Dancing with the Stars three-pack set of DVDs. (Jet, $15)
Tony Horton’s 10 Minute Trainer
I did P90X (for, like, a week). I didn’t stick with the program as long as I should have — like most other people. So, Tony Horton designed a super-quick 10-minute workout program that you can’t make excuses for. (Beachbody, $80)
Mari Winsor’s Slimming Pilates
Mari Winsor is the Pilates master — and Miley Cyrus’s fitness guru. Try her Slimming Pilates workout, although you will find that any video of hers is killer. (Amazon, $30)
