Let’s be real: First dates can be awkward. Will they look like their profile photo? Did you miss any red flags in their bio? Did they even take the time to read yours? And do they just want to hook up, or do they want something real?

Real is the tricky part. It’s why it can be so hard to strike a balance between putting our best selves forward and being authentic. That in and of itself is a recipe for awkwardness.
