Simple Easter place setting ideas

Dinner for two or dinner for 20 — your Easter table will be dressed to impress. If you’re gearing up for fun with family and friends this holiday, we’ve got just what you need to create a table display they’ll never forget!

Color fancy

Pastels may be the first colors that come to mind when considering Easter decor, but break free from this stereotype and push the envelope. Springtime is filled with vibrant colors, and your Easter table should be, too! Before you shop, choose your color palette. Find inspiration from nature for your favorite blues, greens, purples, pinks and yellows, then look for pieces that remind you of your favorite picks. For a unique spring look, try robin’s-egg blue, light coral and even kelly green.

Read the fine (or large) print

Keep your place setting interesting by adding pieces with bold prints. Don’t be afraid to mix different patterns and textures, but keep an editing eye out to avoid going overboard. When combining prints, look for patterns that complement one another. For example, a simple striped print can easily be paired with bold, curvy patterns for added emphasis and contrast, whereas pairing two busy prints will become overwhelming. When in doubt, choose two prints within the same color scheme — one bold, and one subtle — then go neutral with the remaining pieces within your place setting.

Texturize

Another way to add visual interest to your table setting is through the use of texture. To easily add texture to your table, bring in natural elements with an organic feel. Combine accessories made of wood, fabric, ceramic, metal and stone to create a layered look. In a place setting, the easiest way to add texture is through your napkins and placemats, but there are also creative ways, like adding a bird’s nest, to bring unique textures to your display.

Nature knows best

For a table setting that sings spring, bring in a bit of nature. Add a small bouquet of live flowers near each place setting or place a single bloom atop each napkin. Line a dish with wheatgrass, then place a dyed Easter egg in the center. Place a rose, daisy, or daffodil in a teacup, set on top of the salad plate or use string to attach a flower to each cup. Branches, stones and even fruits and vegetables can also be used to add a natural touch. To show the Easter Bunny that you care, fill a basket with fresh, full-size carrots, then add a small bundle of baby’s breath to top it off.
