Married actors Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser sold their Brooklyn penthouse for $1.32 million. It’s earnest and vintage with a chic and modern twist, much like the couple themselves. Gilmore Girls star Bledel and Katheiser, an actor best known for playing Pete Campbell on the iconic series Mad Men, created this love nest that’s the stuff of everyone’s most romantic New York dwelling dreams. The 1,000-square-foot penthouse has just one bedroom but two bathrooms, is completely remodeled to moderm perfection and boasts a rooftop deck with incredible views of Manhattan at sunset. Swoon.
The white walls and high ceilings make this Brooklyn Heights haven an airy dream, and the chocolate brown hardwood floors bring the whole thing back down to earth with substantial, weighty craftmanship. Of course, it’s got all the basics — pimped-out kitchen and baths, plenty of built-ins and even motorized shades for privacy.
The duplex is in an incredible Queen Anne-style building that’s been updated with modern luxuries like full heating and air conditioning and, of couse, a Carerra marble soaking tub. Not too shabby. The furnishings are available for sale, too and there’s plenty to get excited about.
So. Much. Light.
The high ceilings and huge windows let the light flood in, and it’s glorious.
Stairs of the stars
The staircase makes a modern architectural statement that, paired with the light fixture, is magic.
Breakfast?
The wallpaper pattern mimics the building’s outside, making you feel like you’re eating cereal floating among the high-rises.
Kitchen
The kitchen rocks. The end.
Bedroom
The master bedroom is fairly small but has a really cool view of the rooftops below.
Master & mirrors
The new owners should buy the bed, which looks like it was made for this room. Nice use of mirrors, too.
Hello? Marble?
Is marble envy a thing? Because I think I’ve got a bad case.
Rooftop patio
The coolest part of this amazing space is this rooftop terrace with an incredible Manhattan skyline view.
Rooftop view
Here’s the view from another angle. Still pretty great.
Queen Anne dream
Here’s the exterior of the building, which belies the dreamy, airy modern space that’s been created inside.
