Canada’s love affair with trains dates back to the Champlain and St. Lawrence Railroad which first opened in July of 1836! Since then, train trips and tours have been a popular way of taking in the breathtaking and unique scenery our nation has to offer, especially in the mountainous and more northern regions which cannot easily be accessed by other means. Here are a handful of talked about Canadian train trips – ride the rails!

Rocky Mountaineer

Billed as one of the World’s Greatest Trips by National Geographic, the Rocky Mountaineer offers several different routes that are two-day, all daylight rail trips through British Columbia and the awesome Canadian Rocky Mountains. This trip boasts gourmet cuisine served on board, as well as the option to incorporate wine tours and golf into the experience.
