Madonna’s perfume ad busts out of ABC’s comfort zone

Madonna‘s perfume commercial has executives at ABC hot and bothered. See the ad they say won’t be shown on their station unless a list of changes are made!

Madonna‘s perfume ad isn’t anything less than you’d expect from the notoriously controversial Material Girl. The same 53-year-old woman whose “Girl Gone Wild” video was rated 18+ by YouTube for excessive grinding, has now hit a brick wall with ABC. Unless their list of demands are met, the Truth or Dare fragrance commercial won’t get to air.

As seen above, Madonna’s perfume commercial features the icon, unsurprisingly, singing “I’m a bad girl” while wearing a black bra, fishnet stockings and rear-bearing corset — wardrobe choices that have not escaped the moral police at ABC. Execs have ordered producers of the Truth or Dare perfume ad to digitally alter offending shots before they will give it the green light.

Specifically, post-production wizards are being called upon to enlarge Madonna’s bra so that it covers most of her bust, and cover her bum by digitally lengthening her corset. A source explained to Page Six, “ABC viewed the ad [and] came back with a list of changes. They say they want her bra digitally made bigger, and to extend higher to cover more of her chest, and her corset longer to cover more of her bottom. ABC also wants to cut another suggestive scene where Madonna writhes around.”

The Truth or Dare promotion team had planned to run the ads during the ABC shows GCB, Scandal and quite mysteriously, the daytime talk show The View.

Fan reaction to Madonna’s fragrance commercial has been mixed. One YouTube viewer defended the scantily clad singer by writing, “Hot! Sexy! LMFAO at phrases like ‘dressing appropriately.’ We live in 2012 dear, we have freedom of expression… She’s had 53 b-days! Doesn’t mean she has to think or dress in any particular way.”

Voicing the other side of the Madonna perfume controversy a second commenter wrote, “I don’t think people would be so hard on her if she’d just stop pretending to be 20, because she really does look great for 50. I wish she’d move on to more… dignified pursuits.”
