How to download and use emoji icons

Keeping contacts, appointments, alarms and folders straight on your phone can be overwhelming. Using emoji icons can shorten long notes by simply adding an icon to replace all or part of the note. Once you learn how to use emojis, they will become a big help in organizing your phone.

How to…

Step 1: How to download the free emoji app

Download the free emoji app from the App Store and enable the emoji language in the settings part of your phone.

Click the following, in order: Settings, General, Keyboard, International Keyboard, Add New Keyboard, and select emoji. You are now free to use and share all of the fun emoji icons with your family and friends.

Step 2: Appointments/alarms

If you have a hard time waking up in the morning, try putting a sun or smiley icon next to it. If you’re going to the dentist, put a big smile next to it. For a doctor’s appointment, use an emoji relating to health.

Step 3: Contacts

Do you have trouble keeping names straight? Or maybe you didn’t catch a last name? Use emoji icons to add a little detail to your contact. If you have a group of girls you always meet for happy hour, put a cocktail emoji next to their name. When you want to set up a girls night, just type the cocktail emoji into your phone and all their numbers will come up.

Step 4: App folders

With so many apps available, it can clutter your phone. You can eliminate this issue by renaming folders on your phone. For example, if you have a folder about notes or reminders, change the name to an emoji of a notepad and pen. Simple details can make a huge difference.
