What you’ll need:
- Scrapbook paper
- Cardstock
- Paper cutter
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Push pin
- Small bead
- Chopstick or dowel
What you’ll do:
- Cut a 6-inch by 6-inch square from both your scrapbook paper and cardstock. You can also opt to let your kiddos to adorn the papers with their own design.
- Glue the two pieces of paper back-to-back with a glue stick.
- Cut a 3-inch slit towards the center from each of the four corners of your square to create eight sections.
4. Use the push pin to create a hole in the center of your square. Then, poke a hole through the point of every other section, leaving you with four holes around the outside and one in the middle.
5. With the square in your left hand, bring one of your poked corners down to the center with your right hand and gently push the pin through the back of the hole. Just be sure not to push the pin back through the center just yet!
6. Repeat with every section with a hole until you have four sections meeting in the middle and four sections still lying relatively flat. Now it’s time to push the pin through the center completely.
7. Once your pin is all of the way through the paper, slide a small bead on the pointy pin end and push pin into a dowel or chopstick. Now your pinwheel is ready to swirl in the summer breeze!
