SheKnows is going to teach you how to work the camera and your best angles for all of your selfie moments. It’s time to be a little selfish this summer!
Expert selfie tips
Before you become a professional selfie taker, here are a few things to consider:
- Find your angle. Know what your good side is so that you can take the best selfie possible.
- Don’t be camera shy. Selfies are all about… you guessed it… you!
- Lastly, don’t take yourself too seriously. Selfies are supposed to be fun, and it’s OK to laugh at yourself while taking them.
Sultry selfie

Quite possibly the most re-created selfie of all time is the sultry one. It usually involves the puckering of the lips and the smiling of the eyes or, as Tyra Banks would say, “smizing.” The sultry selfie can be taken when you’re having a good hair day or when you simply want to show off your beautiful self. Kim Kardashian is our exemplary sultry-selfie model. Girl knows how to “smize” like a pro!
Pet selfie

We all know how much you love your pets, so why not let the rest of the world know, too? Show off your love (and your good looks!) and pose for the camera. Whether you have a four-legged friend or a feathered companion, your pet will love to be in the spotlight. Snap a pet selfie at the park or in your backyard, as Twilight star Nikki Reed did with her cute pooches.
Workout selfie

You may be wondering, “Who would ever take a picture of themselves working out!?” More people than you think are snapping themselves at the gym, on a run or climbing mountaintops. Embrace your sweaty-and-active self and share your exercise adventures with others. Singer Ellie Goulding takes a quick break mid-workout to snap a selfie in the mirror.
Group selfie

What do you get when you add family or friends + you + a camera? The group selfie! You can take a group selfie with your co-workers, friends or family members. Don’t be afraid to make a silly face or take it in a spontaneous place. The group selfie not only shows that you have friends but that you are capable of being a little selfless when it comes to hogging the camera. Taylor Swift and her friends play dress-up during their group selfie time!
Compilation selfie

Some days you walk out the door looking like a million bucks, and then there are days when you have an awesome shopping trip at the mall. In cases like those, you should employ the compilation selfie. Not only can you include a picture of yourself, but you can also add in other things such as the accessories of the day, what you had for lunch or snapshots of the places you visited that day. E! News host Giuliana Rancic executes a compilation selfie flawlessly by showcasing her adorable outfit!
