We have a total crush on Kristen Stewart‘s chic ‘do. Find out why in this week’s installment of Celeb Hairstyle of the Week!
When I think of Kristen Stewart, I don’t typically get super excited about her style. While she cleans up pretty well for red carpets, Kristen’s day-to-day style isn’t exactly landing her on best-dressed lists, and neither is her hair. But recently, the actress wowed me with a messy-meets-pretty ponytail at Paris Fashion Week.
Kien Hoang, Oribe Educator and owner of Umbrella Salon in San Jose, California, is also crushing on the look: “First of all, I love Kristen Stewart, and this style is totally her — very sultry and sexy yet effortless. I like that the pulled-back hair emphasizes the natural beauty of her face. The front is simple and fresh, and there’s added elegance in the back with the accessories. It’s all about the mood it creates.”
Get the look
- Start off by dampening hair with Foundation Mist.
- Rake a textured mousse (we like Surfcomber Tousled Texture Mousse) back through the hair so it leaves rake marks on the top. Then finger-dry the hair in back. Use your hands to “fold” the hair and give it a textured, crinkled effect.
- Split the hair from ear to ear in a radial section (like headphones), creating a top and bottom section. Tie the top section into a ponytail, and then tie the loose “tail” into another ponytail with the bottom section. Apply a textured paste (try Fiber Groom) to the ends of the ponytail for definition and separation, and wrap large sections around a curling iron for more bend.
- Add accessories to cover the elastics. Keep the accessories small so that they don’t overpower the style.
